Update from the trenches

Day 42 – Montauban, south west France.

Here we are on house exchange no 3 – and a fine house it is. We’re situated just off the centre of a large(ish) town, Montauban, 50kms or so just north of Toulouse.

So far south, and yet the weather hasn’t been very hot or sunny for most days. Our first weekend was spent in glorious sunshine and we managed to exploit our small pool in the garden. We’re hoping that weather returns sometime soon!

The rest of the time, we’ve spent making music:

We visited Toulouse – turns out it was a holiday, and most of it was closed!

Never mind – we visited the Treasures of Tibet shop and caught “The Dark Knight” at the cinema (en Anglais with French subtitles – no horrible dubbing, thankfully).

The markets here are first class! No photos – I’ve been too busy getting stuck in there and purchasing the most glorious in season melon and peaches (oh, and any other seasonal fruit and veg you could ever want) direct from the growers.

We’re off out now for a ramble in the countryside – can’t stay cooped up on this laptop all day!

Wish you were here …
Julie
